Abstract Solar power generation is an effective approach to promote the achievement of carbon neutrality. Heat transfer materials (HTMs) are important for concentrated solar (CSP) systems and their accessary thermal energy storage (TES) devices. The performances HTMs can influence operation behaviors CSP TES On whole, be divided into three categories according physical states, which liquid, gaseous, solid HTMs, respectively. This article presents a brief review research works on liquid used in devices systems, mainly including different kinds molten salts, heat oils, nanofluids, metals, water. Some typical practical applications, experimental simulation studies introduced, advantages, disadvantages, further development work prospects briefly summarized. aims providing reference researchers field.
